Following heavy rain on Friday and again on Saturday morning the covers came into their own once again.

Despite the rain, the wicket – beautifully prepared by Andy Jones was ready for a 1pm start. After the warm up captain George Gibson won the toss and put Stillington in to bat. We opened with Niti and Ollie who once again bowled well and kept the opposition quiet for the first 14 overs. Ollie being very economical bowling seven overs for 13 runs. Rob White took the ball as first change and soon got the breakthrough with Eshaan taking another catch at point. Eshaan would then go on to take the big wicket of the opener who played well for his 27. Rob continued to bowl well and got the next wicket with one that kept low but hit the stumps! 82-3 soon became 86-4 when Eshaan took his second wicket with a catch by Coley.

The fifth wicket went to Ollie Walsh as did the sixth. Well bowled Ollie. Niti came back on and wrapped up the last four wickets, bowling right lines and included  a terrific catch from Chris Binnie. Stillington all out for 145. After sweeping and marking the wicket we took tea. Coley and Chris Binnie opened the batting. Unfortunately Chris went early playing across the line and was clean bowled. Niti went to the crease and soon moved the score along. Coley was next to depart as he got caught with the total on 26. Once again in walked the captain with not many on the board and two down. George and Niti sensibly took singles and also found the boundary. The partnership stood at 64 when Gibson misread a straight ball and was bowled for 26. With the required run rate around three an over it was easy for Eshaan and Niti to hit the target score.

Niti batting well again 75 not out and Eshaan 25 not out.

Another 30 points in the bag. Thanks to Matt for umpiring and Bo for scoring.
