The first team travelled to Easingworld with a similar team structure to last week.

After a brief warm up captain George Gibson won the toss and elected to field first. Ollie and Toby opened up, taking a couple of overs to find their length.

With the runs coming on quite easily up to drinks we needed a breakthrough. After 23 overs it came as Toby took a great catch off Simon to dismiss Copeland for 81. With David “Bumble” Lloyd watching on too.

The wickets continued once Eshaan took the ball, catches from Gibson senior, Rob White and Chris along with an LBW.

Wickets for Toby and Niti including catches for George and Andy meant we wrapped by our stint in the field restricting the opposition to 195/9. Bumble left, we had tea and drinks and got ourselves ready to bat.

Guy and Niti opened up. An unfortunate start as Guy was given out in controversial circumstances as what looked to be a bump ball was given out on a muted appeal. Chris joined Niti and move the score on. Niti the next to fall. Runs weren’t that easy to find as the captain cane to the crease. Chris soon followed Niti back to the hut falling to the useful slow turning spin from the opposition.

Enter the fray Eshaan, who got into the swing of things, however once again captain George got himself in and got himself out as the spinner stuck again. With Rob White joining Eshaan the scoreboard moved along again, Eshaan going passed 50 with ease finding the middle of the bat and the gaps in the field.

Despite losing Rob for a useful 16, the game moved on with Ollie at the crease, playing the ball on its merit and also finding the boundary with ease. Eshaan was finally out for 90 which left Andy Jones and Ollie to get us over the line.

A good 4 wicket win in hot weather, having had a poor start with both bat and ball. Thanks to Bo for scoring, Sam for umpiring and Bumble for watching us. Well done lads- especially Eshaan.

30 points in the bag.
