The first team entertained local rivals Bilton.

After a warm up George lost the toss and was put into bat. Opening with Guy and Chris Stephenson – who was playing his last game prior to his travels around Asia.

They got off to a solid start with Whatmore scoring freely, including 19 of one over. Chris the first to go caught and bowled by one that stuck in the wicket a fraction. Niti joined Guy at the crease. The partnership didn’t last long as Guy top edged one back to the bowler for a sharp 39. The captain joined Niti at the crease trying to emulate their 150 partnership from last week. However, what happens one game doesn’t mean it will the next as the skipper went cheaply nicking off to a rising ball to the keeper.

Enter Eshaan who once again teamed up with Niti to push the score on. Playing sensibly early on and then accelerating away, both hit 50 with Niti the first to go LBW playing a reverse sweep. The scoreboard ticked over and despite losing Eshaan for 62, Rob and Andy pushed the final total to 225. Andy with a couple of big maximums.

After tea and a brush up of the wicket we took to the field. Ollie and Niti opened up and started well. Wickets fell at both ends with Ollie returning another four wickets. Niti with three, Eshaan robbed one and Ollie Walsh grabbed two vital wickets at the end.

Bilton all out for 123. A big win. The seconds chased down 274 for their first win of the season at York. Well played TABS.

Fabulous weekend especially with England winning the World Cup ?????????????????????

Thanks to Matt for umpiring and Bo for scoring.
